Pope Francis, a Catholic clergyman, has said that people of the same sex should be allowed social and legal protection.
A documentary called “Francisco” was screened at the Rome Film Festival in which Pope Francis for the first time openly spoke in favor of making social protection laws for homosexuals.
Pope Francis added that he was also a servant of God and had the right to have a family.
“Homosexuals also have the right to have a family,” he said. There is a need to create social laws in this regard so that homosexuals can be legally protected.
Pope Francis opposes same-sex marriage, says marriage should only be between a man and a woman.
