First, I’ll start with the good news.
Matt and I are engaged!!!!!
He proposed a month ago (yes, I’ve kept it a secret for that long) on the one-year anniversary of asking me to move in with him. It was very sweet and unexpected, and in true Matt fashion, completely thoughtful and amazing. I was expecting him to propose in Maui, but didn’t want to get my hopes up too much as I know he doesn’t like to do obvious things.
And his proposal definitely wasn’t obvious — I was completely unaware what he was up to the day he proposed (February 25th). I won’t go into too much detail about it here, but know that it involved flowers, a giant flaming heart on our front lawn, Keith Urban, a disco ball and a lovely dinner out. I couldn’t have been more surprised couldn’t be happier to be marrying the love of my life sometime in the summer of next year :).
Now for the bad news.
I decided not to go to grad school this year because we both want to get married next year and I can’t afford to do both. We talked about waiting until I finished school to get married, but it’s important to me to have my dad walk me down the aisle while he still can. So summer 2018 it is! I’m disappointed, but also a bit relieved I don’t have to study for the GMAT anymore, haha! I might do a MPA (masters of public admin) instead, which is fully online and would be 100% covered by the government scholarship, whereas the MBA would only be half-covered.
So the good news is we’re engaged, the bad news is I have to put grad school on hold, the good news is I don’t have to learn math 12 again and write the GMAT, and the good news again is I can get back to blogging, coaching and writing!
I’ve got a few reviews coming up and my first race of the year on April 8, so you’ll be hearing from me again soon 🙂
