Five Things Friday: You know you’re an adult when…

five thingsHappy Friday, friends!

Whatch’yall up for the weekend?

Since I powered through a lot of freelance this week I might actually have more time to do fun things this weekend. I’d like to buy some more plants and herbs for the patio and tidy up outside a bit more before BBQ season… maybe go to Home Depot, or maybe Bed, Bath & Beyond but I don’t know, I don’t know if we’ll have enough time…

You’re know you’re an adult when…

I’ve never been much in to gardening or anything house-project related, but after digging up a few raised beds in the backyard last weekend and planting some kale, lettuce, carrots, beets and peppers, I just want to keep going. Not just because I actually found it quite relaxing (and a pretty good workout — hauling soil around feels like strength training!), but also because I’d love to just walk outside and pick some fresh veggies for a salad or smoothie. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! I’m going to do some more research to see what kind of fruit might do well in the yard, which is half shade and half sun.

Speaking of house stuff, my home office/blogging and freelance liar is almost complete. I’d like to get some floating wall shelves for a few more pictures and maybe a hanging air plant, as I just noticed a hook above my head.

I got everything minus the desk (which I’ve had since my uni days) at Winners for $200!

Aside from house-related activities, Debbie and I are heading out for our first real trail run of the year to Gowlland Tod on Sunday (yay!), I need to go running shoe shopping and Frontrunners is having a big sale (double yay!), and the Boston Marathon is on Monday, which is exciting yet bittersweet since I should be there πŸ™

There. I think that was five things!

Oh, and the exciting thing I alluded to IS happening, but I can’t say anything more right now. I’ll be sure to share at the end of the month, so stay tuned!

What are you up to this weekend? When do you stop partying and start Home Depot shopping on the weekends? Do you have a veggie garden? What are you growing?
